Bassett Healthcare Network , a progressive, academic health system in central New York, a major teaching affiliate of Columbia University, is seeking an Optometrist to join our staff.

Bassett Healthcare Network is an integrated healthcare system that provides care and service to people living in an eight-county region covering 5,600 square miles in Central New York. The organization includes five corporately affiliated hospitals, as well as skilled nursing facilities, community and school - based health centers, and health partners in related fields.

Job Description  & Responsibilities

1. Join an established group of 4 Ophthalmologists and 3 Optometrists.
2. High-quality clinical environment with state-of-the-art equipment
3. Comprehensive Optometric Practice: Routine eye exams, diagnosis and management of ocular disease including glaucoma, cataract, cornea disease, diabetic retinal exams and monitoring of age-related macular degeneration. Provide urgent care during clinic hours.
4. Day Call – 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM some weekdays
5. Referral patterns for tertiary care ophthalmologists are well established.
6. Salary Range: $150,000 - $184,483 plus performance-based compensation. This compensation range represents Bassett Healthcare’s good-faith belief in the compensation range at the time of this posting or advertisement. Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
7. Bassett offers physicians an incentive plan with no earnings cap. Individual performance and productivity can significantly enhance compensation with potential upside realized within the first year of employment.
8. Training stipend up to $40,000 for up to 18 months prior to graduation
9. Sign-On Bonus up to $100,000

Job Qualifications

1. OD
2. NYS Licensure
3. BLS Certification Required
