ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

Licensed, Appointed and Tenured New York City Public Schools (NYCPS) Teacher

SELECTION CRITERIA:

  • Demonstrated success designing and facilitating professional learning for educators across multiple levels (school, district, and central).
  • Proven ability to support school and/or district leaders to implement systemwide initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of New York City Public Schools, including district governance and community school models.
  • Excellent facilitation and communication skills across diverse audiences.
  • Outstanding critical thinking, organizational, and system-level problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated experience developing or supporting programming in financial literacy, early college, computer science, advising, and /or career readiness.
  • Ability to leverage digital platforms and emerging technologies to expand access, personalize engagement, and streamline professional learning delivery.
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a flexible, optimistic approach.

    DUTIES/RESPONSIBLITIES:

    Professional Learning Design & Delivery

  • Co-design and co-deliver the annual Summer Institute with Superintendents, integrating all Pathways initiatives and supports into school and district Comprehensive Education Plan goals.
  • Design and deliver high-quality school-year professional learning experiences for school and district audiences, anchored in Summer Institute. These experiences - virtual and in-person, synchronous and asynchronous — should function as a continuation of Summer Institute, advancing the Pathways mission and 2030 goals and reinforcing District partnerships.
  • Develop lesson sequences, digital assets, and facilitation practices that set a new bar for adult learning design and translate directly into daily practice at the school level.
  • Consult with Pathways program teams to ensure all learning environments are engaging, accessible, equity-centered, and grounded in measurable student outcomes.

    Culture & Practitioner Impact

  • Equip district and school teams to adopt and sustain practices that improve key metrics for college and career readiness.
  • Elevate professional learning into cultural anchors that educators want to attend, that resonate with their daily realities, and that embed Pathways practices across schools.
  • Surface and share promising practices across schools to inform continuous improvement.

    Collaboration & Alignment

  • Coordinate closely with Senior Directors of School and District Partnerships to ensure coherence across school-facing work.
  • Partner with central teams to unify adult learning principles across the Office of Student Pathways.
  • Translate insights from the field into actionable recommendations for communications, tools, and supports.

    Innovation & Continuous Improvement

  • Use AI and emerging technologies to expand reach and personalize learning.
  • Monitor participation and engagement metrics to refine design and maximize impact.
  • Document strengths and areas for growth across professional learning delivery to support office-wide improvement.

HOURS:

As per UFT Collective Bargaining Agreement

9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Monday Through Friday

School Year (September 5, 2025, through June 30, 2026) plus five additional days winter, spring or summer recess pursuant to UFT contract, to be determined by supervisor.

The hours of service of a teacher shall be thirty-seven and one-half hours per week exclusive of a daily thirty-minute lunch period. Flexibility for earlier start or later finish to the day with approval of supervisor. Requirement to work up to 30 per session days during summer vacation period, starting July 2025.
