Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Urology Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our specialized urology team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive patient care, perform clinical assessments, assist in procedures, and support the delivery of high-quality urological services within a dynamic healthcare environment. This role offers an opportunity to work in a reputable clinic setting with our Urology physician. The position requires a commitment to patient-centered care, adherence to HIPAA regulations, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including history-taking, physical examinations, vital signs, and diagnostic evaluations.
• Manage acute and chronic urological conditions, including pain management and post-procedure care.
• Utilize EMR systems
• Assist with diagnostic procedures including ultrasound imaging, cystoscopies, spinal taps, and ventilator management when applicable.
• Participate in clinical trials and research initiatives to advance urological care practices.
• Provide triage services in urgent care or emergency room settings, ensuring prompt evaluation of acute conditions.
• Support discharge planning, home care instructions, and coordination with hospice & palliative medicine teams when necessary.
• Maintain strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques during procedures.
• Collaborate with hospital staff across various departments including ICU, neonatal units, PICU, and medical-surgical units.
• Educate patients on treatment plans, medication administration, health coaching, and family planning options.

Skills

• Proficiency with EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks.
• Experience administering injections and performing minor surgical procedures like suturing.
• Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
• Ability to manage complex cases involving ventilator support or airway management in inpatient or outpatient settings.
• Familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding for billing purposes.
• Excellent patient assessment skills combined with compassionate communication abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams while maintaining HIPAA compliance and confidentiality standards.
